Back has small buckle marks that have been polished over and the overall condition is what you would expect on an instument of this age. the varnish has small hair line cracks in the varnish you would expect in an instrument of 50 years. combined tail piece and bridge work really well to adjust and have functional fixings to hold in place and take a part in the create a part of the final tone and volume of the instrument. The sides have a continuation of the dark cherry sunburst of the front. The front of the guitar has a nice sunburst to the face with a painted white purfling line that is faded by age and ware. The soundhole has a white line rossette ,nice and simple that matches the white line on the body and around the cool tortoiseshell scratch plate that looks the part. Fingerboard is in rosewood, good frets with white plastic markers, zero fret and topnut. Orignal machine heads apart from one but not that noticable and a chrome truss rod cover to the front. the neck can be adjusted onto the body by a central bolt in the heal to lower the action.Headstock is sprayed in black with the Egmond logo in gold.
EGMOND GUITAR SERIAL NUMBERS SERIAL NUMBER
The neck is made from european beech and has a nice golden tone with serial number to the back of headstock. The overall construction is in ply with internal cross fan bracing which makes the guitar really project volume and great rock sound. This would be a great guitar for a rockabilly type performer or early beatles Lennon style. Lovely old dreadnought acoustic guitar by Egmund of Holland date 1962.
